January 12th
International Kiss a Ginger Day

Kiss a Ginger Day is an unofficial holiday that brings sweet kisses to redheads around the world. The purpose of this holiday is to show a special ginger in your life how much you care for them by giving them a kiss, either on the cheek or on the lips. You can even attend a ginger party in London to celebrate!
Celebrated internationally!

February 9th
National Toothache Day

I know what you’re thinking… How can everyone have toothache on the same day? This national day isn’t actually about celebrating having a toothache, it’s to educate people how to prevent toothache! Maybe it should be renamed – National Brush Your Teeth Day?
Celebrated mostly in America.

March 18th
National Awkward Moments Day

A whole day to celebrate all of your awkward moments! From tripping up in front of everyone, to having toilet roll stuck to your shoe. We’ve all had them, although I’m not sure that I want to remember, or celebrate mine!
Celebrated in the US and UK and probably many other places where awkward things happen.

April 7th
National Beer Day

Now this is one that makes more sense! National Beer Day is annually celebrated to spread ‘beery’ love throughout the land. It is a special day to honour one of the world’s oldest prepared beverages so wherever you are on this day, say cheers to the beer.
Celebrated in the US, UK and Iceland.

May 13th
National Frog Jumping Day

What a time to be alive, an actual day to celebrate frogs jumping. Ever fancied a pet frog? Today is the day to buy your pocket pet. Be sure to do your research, you don’t want to end up with a poisonous one!
Celebrated in the US.

June 10th
National Ball Point Pen Day

Ok, who is going to celebrate a pen? A piece of plastic that we use everyday.
Without the ballpoint pen, kids would still be using ink to write notes to pass across the classroom.
Celebrated internationally.

July 3rd
National Eat Your Beans Day

Jelly beans? Mr Bean? Coffee Beans? No, just beans. You have 40,000 varieties of beans to choose from. Which one will you eat to celebrate?
Celebrated in the US and surely other places!?

August 8th
National Sneak Some Zucchini In Your Neighbour’s Pantry Day

I know what you’re thinking… this has got to be the strangest national day EVER. To celebrate, you simply wait until night time and quietly creep onto your neighbour’s porch leaving plenty of zucchini for them to enjoy. Let’s hope they hadn’t grown their own already!
Celebrated in the US.

September 5th
National Cheese Pizza Day

Who doesn’t enjoy pizza? Did you know that Americans eat approximately 350 slices of pizza per second? Interesting ways to celebrate include pizza parties and finding pizza museums. Yes, pizza museums.
Another holiday celebrated in the US. I would be certain the UK would join in on this one!

October 5th
National Get Funky Day

*Attention - Positive vibes only*
Turn that frown upside down and get funky on this national day. A day to spread smiles and laughter everywhere you go.
Celebrated in the US.

November 30th
National Stay Home Because You’re Well Day

This national day is exactly as it sounds. Stay at home because you’re feeling well. Take a day from work because you’re absolutely fine. Sounds good to me, I wonder how my boss will take it?
Celebrated in the US, UK, India, Canada, Australia and more!

December 18th
National Answer the Telephone Like Buddy the Elf Day

If you haven’t already seen this great film it’s time to catch up! On December 18th you too can be Buddy the Elf. Wear something green, pick up the phone and answer with ‘Buddy the Elf, what’s your favourite colour?’ Can you think of a better way to get in the Christmas spirit?
Celebrated in the US, again. Let’s hope it spreads this Christmas!
